SCHOOLS PACKAGE

The small package of mindset development training we offer is called “BE YOU … AT YOUR BEST – How to Harness the Power of the Mind in order to Maximise your Performance in Challenging Situations”. It is aimed at those GCSE and A-Level/IB students who do very well in the classroom or in coursework, prep or homework … but for some reason get the ‘yips’ when it comes to exams (whether school or public) and don’t do themselves justice and underperform – maybe not by much but just enough to make a difference.

It is rooted in NLP which has variously been described as “the study of subjective experience through the use of a set of concepts and tools designed and empirically proven to increase personal effectiveness” or as “the gateway to the reprogramming of the mind and the key to the difference that makes the difference” or simply as “the study of excellence and how to reproduce it”. The package is comprised of 5 exercises which are quick, effective, safe, simple and easy to use:

A 5-minute exercise to routinely kick-start your day with a positive mindset

02. I AM… STATEMENT

Create formal and positive affirmations about yourself – it’s ‘you on a page’

03. FOCUS

An exercise to clear your mind and become more productive (by simply staring at a black dot!)

04. ORGAN/SENSES MEDITATION

A transfer of emotions from negative to positive. Ground yourself and get rid of the ‘chatter’.

05. CIRCLE OF EXCELLENCE

Get ‘in the zone’ by harnessing the power of positive memories. Prepare for challenging situations and overcome any lack of confidence. It is applicable to any scenario – academia, drama, arts, music, sports, business. It is an excellent tool.

01. ESSENCE

Be aware of yourself and find out about yourself, find resources and solutions from within as you put your brain ‘on the start-line’. This includes an exercise on discovering how you know when you’re ‘present’, when you’re ‘curious’ and when you’re ‘ready to go for it’

02. STATES

Learn about how to change your ‘state’ – from ‘everyday state’ (baseline) to ‘I’m in the zone’ state (up) or to ‘relaxed’ state (down) by changing your breathing pattern, posture, voice tone and mindset.

03. VALUES HIERARCHY

An exercise to help you find out what guides you and what ‘makes you tick’

04. WELL FORMED GOALS

To succeed (and the way you measure success is up to YOU), you need Goals … and have absolute clarity. Know exactly what it is you want. This includes an exercise centred around the 8 criteria that make up the Well Formed Goal.

05. NEGATIVE MINDSET

Often the greatest barrier to achievement is … YOU. Identify and challenge your negative mindset and then create a strategy to neutralise, overcome and replace it. A series of exercises based around False/Limiting Beliefs, Sabotaging Behaviours, Excuses and Mixed Messages

06. CALIBRATION/RAPPORT

Improve awareness of what makes others tick by creating a ‘body language dictionary’ of their responses and behaviour. Exercises in creating Rapport with another and recognising Congruence. Think ‘BAGEL’ (Body posture, Accessing cues, Gestures, Eye movements and Language patterns).

07. REPRESENTATIONAL SYSTEMS

Our use of language reveals ‘how’ we process information. Identify this with a clever language pattern exercise.

08. PORTRAY ‘METHOD’

Personal tools to come across as or present with confidence. This handy ‘METHOD’ will help you to perform with impact (Movement, Eyes, Tonality, Hands & feet, Originality and Deportment).
